Heard about superfoods, but don’t know what they are? Or know what foods are called “super” but don’t know what to do with them? Learn recipes using everyday superfoods, be introduced to some of the less common ones and find out practical ways to use them. All ingredients provided.
This workshop is designed to introduce you to superfoods, while giving you recipes to use these ingredients in. You’ll get to make many of the recipes, while others will be shown only as a demonstration. It is in fact also a predominantly raw foods class, in that nearly everything that you make is also raw food, or can be done as raw.
Specific superfoods that will be covered include: avocados, blueberries, nuts, macca, spirulina, cacao powder, cacao butter, goji berries, sacha inchi, mesquite, MSM, shizandra berry, chia seeds, flax seeds, coconut oil, kale, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to:
• Recognise what foods are “super” and know where to get them
• Debate the merits of superfoods
• Have practical recipes to use superfoods
• Explain why it is good to “activate” nuts prior to using them
• Explain how to incorporate superfoods in everyday foods
• Make recipes incorporating superfoods
