We’ll consider these arresting, articulate artworks and continue to work in one of these styles – Cubism, Futurism, Modernism and others.
The age of modernism is generally accepted to have come about during the early part of the 20th century. The 20th century sped up everything – art, architecture and technology. The world wars scarred artists and artisans and their work; many tried to fix society, others turned to art for art’s sake.
This workshop looks at the movements of Art Nouveau and Art Deco and the artists who worked at this time. We will use some of their techniques and styles to produce our 21st century versions of modern art.
A list of materials to bring (approximate cost $40) will be sent out when course numbers are confirmed.
