Expressionism was a cultural movement which affected art and painting, as well as literature, poetry, theatre and film. Expressionism reflects an internal attitude, painting with one’s soul and interpreting reality, and occasionally defined as “fireworks on canvas”.  Think of the works of Van Gogh, Gaugin and Cezanne…..

Some art exercises will get us into the swing of things and then we’ll continue with painting our chosen subjects in the expressionist style.
