How to enrol

Online

Payment by Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard only)

Simply choose a course category (on the left menu of this page), click on a course listed, then click on enrol now at the bottom of the course description. You will go directly to our online enrolment form.

Please note that your enrolment is NOT automatically confirmed - acceptance into a course depends on the availability of places and the confirmation of payment via your credit card. Once enrolment is confirmed, a receipt will be emailed to you but if you would like to check if your enrolment has been accepted, please call us on 385 8919 or email us on cec@whs.school.nz.

By Phone

Payment by Internet Banking or Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard only)

Please call 385 8919 to organise Internet Banking transfers or to provide your credit card detais.  

In Person

Payment by cash, Eftpos, credit card or cheque

When courses are running, the CEC office is open on Mondays from 9am-4pm, Tuesdays to Thursdays from 9am-7.45pm and Fridays from 9am-1pm.

At other times, the office is open Monday to Thursday from 9am-4pm and Friday 9am-1pm.

The CEC office will close at 1pm on Friday 18 December 2009 and re-open at 9am on Monday 11 January 2010.

Enrolment Policies

Fees

Fees include GST and must be paid at the time of enrolment. 

Please note that you cannot transfer your fee and enrolment place to another person if you withdraw from a course.

If you receive income support, contact your local Department of Work and Income (WINZ) office about help with course fees.

Receipts

Receipts are emailed out at the time of enrolment or posted on request. Please read your receipt carefully to ensure the details are correct and diary the dates and times as no reminder will be sent out. 

Essential Information

Enrolment -  people who are not enrolled in courses are not permitted to attend classes (this includes participants’ children). 

Minimum Number - courses require a minimum number (usually 10) to be confirmed, so please enrol well before the start date (at least five working days) to avoid disappointment.

No Children - children are not allowed under any circumstances on the premises when Community Education sessions are in progress.  The CEC cannot take responsibility for children of course participants brought onto Wellington High School premises.

Advertised Tutors - on occasion, due to circumstances outside our control, it may be necessary to replace an advertised tutor with a substitute or to postpone a class.

 

Discounts

Holders of Community Services Cards and senior citizens 60+ are entitled to a 10% discount off administration fees (but not the materials charge) on the presentation of their card at the time of enrolment. Please note that discounts cannot be applied retrospectively.  

Overseas Visitors and International Students

Non-permanent residents may enrol in courses if there are spaces available but must pay the full cost of the course. Please check with the CEC for more information.

Enrolment of Secondary School Students

It may be possible for secondary students to attend courses - contact us for further information.  Please note that entry is at the Director’s discretion.

Cancellations

Cancellations notified more than 7 days before the course is due to commence will qualify for a 90% refund. During the week before the course starts, cancellations will qualify for a 50% refund. Transfers may be available to another course if application is made in advance.

No refunds or transfer will be given for cancellations received on the day the course is due to start or after commencement.  

If a course does not reach minimum numbers or, for some other unavoidable reason is cancelled, the fee will be refunded in full.

The Director reserves the right to refuse or to cancel the enrolment of any course participant.

Term Dates 2010

Term 1: Tuesday  9 February to Thursday 1 April.  

Term 2: Saturday 1 May to Saturday 26  June. There will be no sessions over Queen's Birthday Weekend (5 - 7 June) .

Term 3: Tuesday 27 July to Saturday 18 September.  

Term 4: Saturday 9 October to Saturday 4 December.  There will be no sessions over Labour Weekend (23 -25 October).

If a course session falls on a public holiday weekend, an extra session is added at the end to compensate.

CEC Office

Office Hours

When courses are running, we are open from 9am - 7:45pm from Tuesday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm on Monday and 9am - 1pm on Friday.

At other times, office hours are 9am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 9am - 1pm on Fridays.

The office will be closed over the Christmas/New Year period and will re-open on Monday 11 January 2010 at 9am.
