Beer Brewing for Beginners

Tried making beer from a tin but unhappy with the results or keen to start brewing your own at home? Using traditional techniques, learn how to make a basic American Pale Ale craft beer with our experienced home brewer.

Get tips and tricks from an expert in brewing and learn how to make your own craft beer. Working in groups of four, you’ll find out how to clean, prepare, sterilise, and ferment beer in a controlled environment and take home around five litres of your own beer.

The course is held over six weeks, with three sessions followed by a two-week gap while the beer ferments, then a final bottling session.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- Brew craft beer
- Demonstrate techniques for preparation, cleaning and sterilising
- Get tips for making better beer
- Take away resources to research
- Understand the next steps (to achieve an intermediate level)

This course is for beginners, with no prior brewing experience necessary. Most ingredients and equipment provided but bring a pair of rubber gloves.

Note: Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly. If you need to cancel your registration, here are our terms and conditions: "What You Need to Know".
