Healthy but still yummy desserts? Have you ever thought of using pumpkin, various types of beans, kumara, black glutinous rice, sweet corn and tropical fruits like jackfruit, longan fruit, lychee, banana, coconut, palm sugar, pandan leaves, condensed milk … in cooking a dessert?
This two-session course will not only show you how to make them but also give you the chance to learn where to buy all ingredients in Wellington and enjoy healthy and colourful Vietnamese desserts that you never thought you could make.
By the end of the course you’ll be able to:
• Define what characterises Vietnamese desserts and its key ingredients
• Identify retail outlets which supply Vietnamese ingredients
• Confidently follow recipes provided during the course and prepare those recipes with supervision
• Prepare dishes for home eating or entertaining
All ingredients provided but bring an apron, dish cloth, tea towels and containers to take food home.
