Explore gluten-free baking and make four delicious, simple and affordable baked goods.
Do you have a family member or friend that doesn’t or can’t have gluten? Or you’re following a gluten-free diet yourself? This doesn’t mean they or you have to miss out on delicious and affordable baking, or have to spend a fortune buying gluten-free baked goods in the supermarket.
This course will introduce you to alternative flour options, help you adapt some of your favourite recipes to become gluten-free and provide you with four recipes for gluten-free baking: biscuits, chocolate cake, muffins and pancakes. You’ll make all four baked goods in class and take some baking home.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to:
• Identify alternative flour options and places to buy these
• Adapt a non-gluten free recipe for gluten-free baking
• Make your own gluten-free flour mix
• Make gluten-free pancakes and biscuits
• Bake a gluten-free cake and/or muffins
All ingredients included in the fee but bring an apron, dish cloth and tea towels and containers to take food home.
