Cooking: Masalas and Breads from India

Masala is the Indian word for curry. Spend the day making a range of curries both from scratch and by adapting spice packets, for family meals and special occasions. All ingredients included in course fee.

Description

Take a day and create a range of delicious and different Indian masalas, using both Manjula’s tried-and-true recipes but also some of the new spice mixes now available in Indian shops. You’ll also learn how to make a variety of breads (naan, roti and parathas) to serve with the curries.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to:
• Create several different masalas (curries)
• Make tasty Indian bread accompaniments
• Adapt ready-made spice mixes to enhance the flavours
• Use a range a different Indian spices with more confidence

All ingredients provided but bring an apron, dishcloth, tea towels and containers to take any leftovers home.

Note:  Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly. If you need to cancel your registration, here are our terms and conditions: "What You Need to Know".
