Computing: Cloud Based Applications

A practical session which includes creating your own Dropbox and Google Drive accounts and hands-on practise for sharing, uploading and downloading files and working on applications in drives.

Description

A practical session which includes creating your own Dropbox and Google Drive accounts and hands-on practise for sharing, uploading and downloading files and working on applications in drive.    We'll also look at other features in Drive such as calendar and photos and learn how to change view and use applications straight from Dropbox.

Note: All computer courses are run in the school computer labs and you are required to use the school desktops for the duration of the course (you are not able to use your own laptop).  Some of the courses may require you to login onto the network.

By the end of the session you'll be able to:

  • Demonstrate how to create a Google drive and Dropbox account.
  • Identify cloud based programmes and use Dropbox and Google Drive to store and create documents.
  • Use built in Applications like Docs, Sheets, Presentations, etc.

Note:  Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly. If you need to cancel your registration, here are our terms and conditions: "What You Need to Know".
