While an ever-increasing range of manufactured e bikes are available, they can have an eye-watering sticker price or offer limited options for customisation and home maintenance.
Electrifying an existing bike is a job well within the skills and capabilities of most people, it does not require a huge investment in tools, and can be an absorbing and satisfying project. The refit itself is often done in an hour or two - the majority of time is spent upfront determining what components are required to build an e-bike that is safe, reliable and meets your needs and budget.
