We all have funeral stories, some good, many not so. But why are some funerals deeply satisfying and others anything but? Come and find out this, and more.
To create a funeral that’s truly satisfying requires some key things. For a start we need to understand the process of ceremony creation – this is much more relevant than we realise. Then we must represent in a unique and meaningful way the identity of the one whose life we’re commemorating. With these and some other basics under our belts we become a great resource in the preparation of funerals. And we never know when that might be.
In this interactive and informative workshop you’ll also have a chance to begin to design your own funeral or that of a loved one. It’s more fun and the creative juices flow better in the company of others.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- think and speak more comfortably and knowledgably about funerals
- indicate what it is that has people coming away from a funeral feeling uplifted and saying to each other “George would have loved that!”
- recognise the elements that go to make up a funeral that meets people’s needs and feels satisfying
- get involved in the funeral of a loved-one or friend
- plan your own unique and meaningful funeral, or that of someone close to you
