In this exciting new workshop you will learn to set glimmering round faceted gemstones into brass, copper and silver, creating unique wearable pieces to take home.
Flush setting is a specialised method of embedding gems into the surface of metal without the need for solder or joins. This process achieves seamless and professional stone studded results adaptable to a number of jewellery types and styles.
We’ll first practice setting cubic zirconia stones in sheet brass or copper, before moving onto setting stones in silver. We’ll progress to using lab-created sapphires, rubies and other high strength stones. After some practice, we'll gather our new skills to create elegant flush-set earrings or pendants!
The workshop is a great fit for the magpie in all of us, whether you’re a beginner or a returning jewellery student. It will challenge and develop your fine motor skills and eye for detail. Our magnifying headsets, patient tutor and plenty of time to practice, will help you along the way.
