Cape Cod Chairs are a very well-known and popular style of outdoor chair.
A list of materials required will be sent to you before the course is due to start, please bring these materials along with you on the first session. (Estimated cost of materials is $120 upwards, depending on the timber and hardware you choose).
Our woodwork tutor Ian, will guide you through the process of making your very own Cape Cod chair. Ian loves constructing wooden chairs and has designed this course to share his passion with you. Ian will show you how to build this chair with an emphasis on utilising hand-tools.
Suitable for beginners and those with some woodwork experience.
Please note – this course is scheduled to run over 6 weeks, but is outcome-based. This means you may finish your chair earlier if you are more experienced and skilled with woodwork, or you may need all six sessions to complete your chair. If you miss one or more weeks or this course that may impact your ability to complete your chair.
A condition of enrolment is that you must provide photo ID when you attend, unless you have already provided your NSN number at the time of registration (in which case photo ID is not required).
Note: Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly.
