Matt loves good photography - especially photojournalism and documentary photography. He’s spent years capturing the moment with a DSLR camera, but he can’t help but think the best camera to use is the one you have on you – often times your cellphone camera. Matt is skilled in both using DSLR and cellphone cameras to make magic!
For a couple of decades, he worked as an editorial and corporate photographer in Auckland, Sydney and London. His photography was published in magazines, newspapers, books, annual reports, and other marketing material. Matt moved from inner-city Sydney to leafy Tasmania with his growing family, where he was employed in Mobile Telecommunications and Workplace Training.
Since returning to Aotearoa, in early 2020, he has been busy tutoring a University of Tasmania online course called ‘The Photo Essay’.
Matt continues to make pictures for both personal and professional reasons, some of which can be seen on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/mattmoki/ .
