Description

Knitting for Beginners

Come and reap the benefits of a mindful and meditative craft-form.  Meet other people interested in making things with their hands, chat over crafting and find out what the craft craze is all about.

Join crafter Stella Carruthers as she shares her ten years plus knitting experience in this beginner’s knitting class that supports each student as an individual learner.

Master basic knitting techniques, learn how to cast stitches on and off the needles, explore the knit and purl stitches and practice how to hold the needles in a way that is comfortable for you - then learn how to knit in the English style.

Knitting needles and yarn are included in the course fee, but you're welcome to bring along your own 4-ply yarn if you wish.

By the end of the course you will have created two squares of knitting, one in basic garter stitch and the other utilising both knit and purl stitches to create the knitted fabric called stocking stitch.

Note:  Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly. If you need to cancel your registration, here are our terms and conditions: "What You Need to Know".
