Sculpture - Intro to Creature Sculpting

Join us for a fun day of creature making! Design and sculpt a one-of-a-kind character in your own style from polymer clays in a full spectrum of colours!

Working with oven-cured clays and wrapped wire armatures, this workshop offers a variety of modelling methods and approaches - a great opportunity to turn sketches & ideas into tangible 3D forms. Modern clay inventions mean we can create translucent, glittery, semi-flexible, UV reactive or even glow-in-the-dark elements to add more realism or a touch of the surreal into each creation!

Students will be coached through designing and creating a small-scale creature sculpture, beginning simple, and building to a more complex final form as we get familiar with materials.

The class offers beginner students a fun introduction to sculpting organic forms from scratch, and for those with some hands-on creative experience, it offers a great opportunity to experiment, hone and advance your making skills to new levels.

If you can, bring along some design ideas, sketches or reference images to help kick start the sculpting process on the day.

Please wear closed-in footwear suitable for a workshop environment. bring a work apron if you have one or wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little grubby. Remember to bring your reading glasses if you have them.

Note:  Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel.
