Introduction to Electronics and Microcontrollers
An introduction to the world of electronics and microcontrollers. This course will equip you with the base knowledge of how to create and run your own projects, and will give you a foundation for how to find information and equipment you need for your own projects. All materials included in course fee.
Description
Every budding inventor and curious mind is on a journey to better understand how the world works around them. They are constantly imaging and reimaging ways to make life better, efficient or maybe more interesting. Modern projects tend to be focused on automation, which is difficult to understand unless you’ve done an Engineering degree.
In this course you will gain a basic knowledge to start your journey in automation and develop ideas for your own projects. You will discover the theory of electronics, electronic circuits and micro controllers.
Upon completing this course, you ought to be able to appreciate basic electronic components and circuit development. Theory aspects will be solidly linked to hands-on application of these concepts. Together we will put these into practice on some beginner level projects such as light modulation and basic motor control.
Note: All computer courses are run in the school computer labs and you are required to use the school desktops for the duration of the course (you are not able to use your own laptop). Some of the courses may require you to login onto the network.
Note: Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly.
