Difficult and Brave Conversations Workshop
In our professional and personal lives, we don't always see eye to eye. We're likely to encounter people we find challenging, and somehow we have to find a way to work or co-exist with that person. We want to have a conversation with them about the issue, but this can feel difficult in itself! (NZ citizens and residents free with ID, others pay listed price.)
Description
Difficult and Brave Conversations Workshop
In this course, join qualified Psychotherapist and Facilitator Jenni Porter to learn about:
- Common difficult behaviours such as bad habits and passive-aggressiveness, and how to handle them in a way that leads to the most positive result for you.
- How to prepare yourself emotionally to have a difficult conversation with someone.
- How to raise an issue with someone in a brain-friendly way.
- How to confidently navigate a difficult conversation without getting derailed or the problem escalating.
Jenni shares strategies you can use to confidently raise an issue with someone, and best engage in a conversation with them about it.
By the end of this course, you’ll be prepared with new skills and practical strategies to have an effective conversation with someone whose behaviour you find difficult.
Participants are encouraged to think of a current or past example of a person they find difficult, that they would like to address. This will be used at various times throughout the course for personal activities - please bring a notepad and pen.
NOTE: This course is subsidised with funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and you must provide photo ID when you attend your first session, if applicable.
