Exploring our Shared Humanity

Do you ever feel that you're just going through the motions? That life is a series of tasks, a pursuit of pleasure, or a race for self-improvement that never really satisfies? This isn't just a feeling; it's a fundamental human question about what it means to exist.

Description

Join experienced psychotherapist Rohit Grover for a six-week course that invites you to look beyond the surface of everyday life. In these two-hour sessions, we will explore the core tenets of existential therapy, moving away from the conventional focus on self and hedonism. Instead, we'll grapple with life's big questions:

  • What does it truly mean to live a value-driven life?
  • Do our personal values matter, or is the search for meaning just an illusion?
  • What is the "being" part of "human being" all about?

Through guided discussions, reflective exercises, and insights from classic existential thinkers, Rohit will help you navigate this profound territory. This isn't about finding easy answers. It's about developing the courage to ask the right questions, to confront the realities of freedom, responsibility, and meaning, and to discover a more authentic way of living.

This course is for anyone ready to step off the treadmill and begin a deeper exploration of what it means to be alive. Come and find out what it means to truly exist

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Differentiate between a life driven by external pressures or fleeting pleasures and one rooted in personal values and authentic meaning.
  2. Identify and critically examine the core existential givens of human existence, such as freedom, responsibility, isolation, and the search for meaning.
  3. Articulate a personal understanding of what it means to "be" a human being, moving beyond a purely functional or biological definition.
  4. Arrive at sensing rather than thinking. Sensing this existence, this dance of life. Widen your view of existence.
