This course is designed for parents and caregivers of neurodivergent tamariki who want practical, evidence-informed strategies to better support their child’s wellbeing, behaviour, and participation at home and school.

Across three sessions, we will explore the foundations of neurodiversity, including different neurotypes, strengths-based perspectives, and neuroaffirming language. You will gain insight into sensory processing, regulation, and the critical role of connection and co-regulation in supporting your child.

The course also provides guidance on navigating Aotearoa New Zealand’s health, education, and disability systems, including how to access supports and advocate effectively for your child. We will explore common challenges such as school refusal, burnout, and meltdowns, with practical strategies for prevention, in-the-moment support, and recovery.

There will be opportunities for discussion, reflection, and shared learning, as well as a Q&A-style panel session incorporating both professional and lived experience perspectives.

This is a group-based learning environment (not individual therapy), with an emphasis on practical tools, connection, and empowerment.
