Korean - Introductory 2

This course is for those who have completed an Introductory 1 course or have equivalent knowledge. Course fees: If you are a NZ citizen or hold a NZ Resident/Permanent Resident Visa the course fee is $99 (evidence of eligibility required). If you are here on a Work Visa/Working Holiday Visa the course fee is $199

Description

This course is for those who already know the Korean vowels and consonants. The course will cover how to organise conversations according to the situation such as at a restaurant, at a Korean shop, for writing letters or emails in Korean, for finding locations etc. Cultural experiences in this class will include items such as playing Korean traditional games, memorising and singing a song, Korean traditional tea ceremony will expand your knowledge about Korea. It will be useful and fun!

Hangeul (Korean Language), Hanbok (Korean traditional clothing), Kimchi and healthy fermented food, K-pop, these all represent Korean culture. Korea is located in the very end of the continent of Asia. Its culture is rich and deep as its history goes back about 5,000 years.

This course is for those who would like to expand to understand about the Korean language and the culture. It focuses on the living conversations and the real experiences of various aspects of Korean culture. If you know about the Korean vowels and consonants, it's for you!

[Note: You must be a NZ citizen or resident to qualify for the reduced course fee.  A condition of enrolment is that you must provide photo ID when you attend, unless you have already provided your NSN number at the time of registration (in which case photo ID is not required).]

By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Organise conversations in the given situation using your own words and correct
grammar.
- Order food using Korean simple expressions at a restaurant.
- Buy goods using proper words at Korean shops.
- Memorise and sing one Korean song.
- Read a Korean simple folk tale.
- Expand cultural experiences such as Korean traditional music, foods, traditional
games, etc.
- Become more confident about Korean language and the cultural aspects.

Note:  Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. Prerequisites

For those who have attended a 16-hour Korean - Introductory course or have equivalent knowledge.  Please check full course description of Korean Introductory 1 for a list of what you need to know before joining the Intro 2 course.
