Cooking: Singapore Nyonya Food
Love scrumptious Nyonya or Peranakan food? Combining Chinese, Malay and other influences, come and discover how to make your own Nyonya cuisine. Some communal ingredients supplied, a list of other ingredients will be sent out before the course starts (approx cost $35).
Description
Create some classic mouth-watering and flavourful Nyonya dishes. Come and discover how to blend ingredients with distinct spices and cooking techniques. You can easily replicate these dishes at home.
Some ingredients supplied but a list of additional ingredients needed (approximate cost $35) will be sent out when course numbers are confirmed.
Please bring an apron, dish cloth, sharp knife, tea towels and containers to take food home.
Target audience: Adventurous food lovers!
NOTE: Nuts and gluten will be used in some recipes - this course is not suitable for vegetarians.
By the end of the course, you’ll have:
• Made a selection of Nyonya dishes to take home.
• Become more familiar with using the various spices.
• Understood more about the Nyonya cooking.
• Become more confident to cook Nyonya food at home.
Note: Our cooking courses are designed to provide a collaborative and immersive learning experience where learners often work in pairs and/or groups.
